Microsoft Windows Vista and Office 2007 launch for Developers and Architects

A bright sunny thursday was all set for the great event.. guess... yes, none other than the "Microsoft Windows Vista and Office 2007 launch for Developers and Architects". It had a great caption , "Ready for a Big Leap". As usual by about 8:30 AM lot of people started gathering at the TAJ Residency. The registration started of at 9:00 AM . There was some coffee/Tea being served too. The clock struck 9:30 AM and there goes the first session of the event "WOW Demo of Windows Vista and Office 2007 user features" . It was taken by Ramesh . It was a great a session indeed for the people who was seeing Vista for the very first time. Though i had seen it sometime back, I was thrilled to see some of the features he had shown. Some of the features like live desktop , renaming photographs, search in the start was really good. He had finished the session on time .
The next session started off with "Building differentiated user experiences with Windows Vista" by Vineet Gupta, Developer Evanglist. He was showing the features like Aero. How to create gadgets. I was simple amazed to see how we could create some of them. There was a couple of questions asked . After the session, there was a 15 minutes break. I was all excited for the next session. As scheduled the next session started. It was on "Building Secure, Reliable and Performant Applications with Windows Vista" by Vineet Gupta, Developer Evanglist. This was a much sorted session, because in the past i was hearing lot about the performance factor. I was amazed to hear about the capabality like ReadyBoost . This is truely a awesome feature. This session overshoot the time limit as it had vast concepts and many questions too. Although a great session. After this session there was a last session before lunch on "Building Connected Applications with Windows Vista" by Pandurang Nayak, Developer Evanglist. This was a something i was looking forward for. I was very much interested in WCF. He started of with the basics and some simple demos that really helped one to understand the concepts. He just overshoot the time too because of the pervious session. Unfortunately no one asked any questions. I guess people was very hungry ;) . There was a lunch break after this session . As usual, there was some good food served. I could people surrounded around vineet and pandurang engaged in discussions.
At 2:30PM, the post lunch sessions kicked off with the sesion on "Connecting Users with Data in New Ways with the Office 2007 Systems" by Vinod Kumar. I was all excited for that. I knew Vinod and always heard some great session being delivered. Usually it was on SQL Server. This time it was on Office 2007. Awesome...... He showed the various ways to connect users with data. This was followed by a short break. After which was session on " Building Collaboration Solutions using the Office 2007 System " by Vinod Kumar. It was a good session. At about close to 5:00 PM the sessions ended and each partcipant was given a trial office 2007 CD . It was great indeed .. I was all geared up to try office 2007 and lay hands on the Vista as soon as possible ... Truely Vista is "WOW"..................

Cheers!!!
