8 years of Blogging

I was just thinking that it has been 8 years since i started blogging, time passes so fast. Just wanted to put down the number of blog post i have written in all these years

2003 - 2004 => 8
2004 - 2005 => 0
2005 - 2006 => 0
2006 - 2007 => 31
2007 - 2008 => 28
2008 - 2009 => 55
2009 - 2010 => 26
2010 - 2011 => 61

From above it looked like in the initial days i was not blogging much. For 2 years i had another blog which is no more available due to which this blog had no entries. Also due to hectic work schedules, i was not able to blog as well. I feel this year has been good and one of the highest number blog posts. Of late i am more on twitter (@shaju ) as well.

I am hope in the coming days i will try to keep the same momentum, to increase this count as well.

I wish many more readers come to my blog in the coming days.

ASP.NET 4.0 Feature - URL Routing

Let’s see the new feature in ASP.NET 4.0 known as “URL Routing”. URL Routing is a feature which is driven by the ASP.NET URL routing engine which enables the application to route to custom urls instead of actual urls which may have some querystrings etc. In the past we have seen urls like http://localhost/NewStore/Titles.aspx can be now show as http://localhost/NewStore/AllTitles or http://localhost/NewStore/Titles.aspx?ID=2 can be now shown as http://localhost/NewStore/Products/Fiction . Doesn’t this look great? Now let’s see how do we achieve this. We would be using the “System.Web.Routing” class which products us a method “MapPageRoute” which helps to do the routing. Let us see a simple example where we would have two pages one which shows All the Titles and another which shows Title for a specific Author Id. For this example I am using the Pubs Database. Tips on JQuery Intellisense in VS 2008

I was trying to get the JQuery Intellisense working in VS 2008. But I was getting the error “Error updating JScript IntelliSense: Object doesn't support this property or method @ 2139:1” . I was wondering what was the problem. Then through this blog http://patrickyong.net/2009/05/08/error-updating-jscript-intellisense-object-doesnt-support-this-property-or-method-21391/ I found that the “jquery-1.3.2-vsdoc2.js” downloaded from the site has a 2 after “vsdoc” . So the file is not recoginized. So just remove that 2 and it works Cheers!!!
